I want to thank everyone on this forum

I want to thank everyone on this forum - 11/07/14 03:57 PM

I wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone on this forum for putting up with my weird and off the wall questions. I'm sure I bring up questions on matters that have been asked many many many times before.

See a little while back my wife (who is the love of my life and my soul mate) was diagnosed with a life threatening health problem. We have been doing a lot of hospital visits to get things figured out. With all of this stuff going on to boot, I've come down with some health issues as well. I think mine is mainly due to all the stress. I hope. We are not that old. I'm 43 and my wife is just a few years younger. We have been married for 14 years, and we have two little girls.
So with that. I post questions that pop into my head or questions that other people ask me. I do this because it gets my mind off of things for a bit. Dealing with the car stuff de-stresses me for the most part.

I know this is a race car forum. Not a forum to vent your problems. But I am breaking protocol to say THANK YOU ALL, for all of your help with performance advice, and for the personal help you have inadvertently given me. It means more than I could ever say

Good Luck and we are all thinking of you and your wife.

Glad to help.

A few years ago I blew my knee pushing a Chevy race car. Needless to say I was off a couple weeks. Every question on here I tried to give an educated answer whether I knew it or looked it up.

This community helped me through a tough patch and I am glad we were there for you.

It`s all good.............. You should go back a few years and check out some of my stories and rants. Whether we like it or not we need each other to a point and listning w/out reacting can be a good thing. Dig up my old S.W.A.T. stories and you`ll realize how normal your life is. Sorry about the health issues which at this point for me are all mental but we all understand in one way or another.

Greg best of luck to you and your wife. Thoughts and prayers from all of us here. And if asking questions on here eases your stress then by all means keep asking away.

On a serious note, I hope things settle down for you on the home front as soon as possible.

All you guys are so great! Thank you.

I'm way more concerned about my wife(Ashley) than whats going on with me. I'm hoping my health stuff will go back to somewhat normal once we can get her stuff all sorted out and hopefully get her on the mend.

Dustin-
I'm sure trying to get out there next year. I don't know if it will be at the first of the season. But I hope shortly after. I can't wait to see you back here next year though. Kicking all these guys butts and taking their money!

You without a doubt, have sure made us Mopar guys around here proud!!!

Its all good. Look at it this way, Moparts picks up new member everyday and its a site we all love. Every time a subject comes up FRESH minds gets to add their input to the subject and open forum (meeting of the minds) we all learn. Some (most) of us old timers are pretty closed minded as we have done it our way for so long. I personally TRY to learn something new at the age of 58 to keep my mind working. Heck Yellowbullet even has a section just for silicon sealers as the market changes so often. I used GREY for the first time in my life and really liked it. Personally now I have been reading up on NITROUS, something I swore years ago I would never touch. What's next HEMI'S???????????? Yaaaaaa right.

Well we are down to just me working. So I'm at work or I'm at home. And I'm usually at work at least 12hrs a day M-F. Doesn't give me much time for anything else.

Good luck to ya! I have asked a lot of questions too. What touched me the most in this forum was a year ago this past June when I had a cerebral hemorrhage. Lots of racers and friends pulling for me. All of the well wishes and good vibes go a long ways! I do hope I get cleared to drive in 2015. If there is anything you need we are here for you. Ted

I'm glad to hear that it has went the right direction and you will get back in that seat. That's very much worth keeping positive over!

My wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor. On top of that she has had a micro bleeder in or around her brain. They can't find it. It doesn't bleed very often. But it still does all the same. We have had 4 MRI's and not once did it catch the brain bleed. She has some very bad migraines quite often. Almost every other day. She has been put on some meds that seem to subside them. But its just a band-aide to me. So many things going on at once. I think they are more concerned about the bleeder than the tumor right now. I don't know if that's good or bad. I know I'm a mess. I'm doing everything I can to stay strong for her.

Thank you very much for the well wishes! I hope to be hearing about your seat time experiences soon!

I'm so very sorry to hear about your friend.

I'm sure trying to keep my chin up. That's why I started this post to thank you guys. Being able to chat with all you great people on here helps me do that.

Sorry to hear about your troubles dude. My mom used to tell me, some day years from now, you'll be sitting under an umbrella drinking a cocktail laughing at the things you thought were so important, and the things that turned out to be. I wish that for you and your wife. I hope to see you both in Boise at the Nightfire. Take care and let me know if I can help with advice on your B1 deal, but it sounds like you are doing it right.

Greg, prayers sent for full healing for you both. Believe and receive! This is a great site, and fills many needs. There is a need to give, and need to get, a need to learn, and a need to share what we have learned.
Knowing that average retention is what, ten percent then a lot of repetition is just fine. Add to that the coming and going of members and you get the picture. Thank you for sharing, and again prayers sent Greg A

Re: I want to thank everyone on this forum - 11/08/14 10:25 PM

I have always held the notion that others , be it friend or family , are here to help us when the burden gets too big.
Maybe mostly because they have been.
With the addition of the internet to our lives , that network of friends has grown to include dozens of " friends I have yet to meet. "
I am not sure if it is because we realize that there are a good number of nutty &%$#@*&'s out there who are just like us ?
Or backs up my " dynamics of a crowd " theory.........where if you assemble 100 people in a room , you will have a broad representation of virtually everything humanity has to offer in that group.
And many of them will be solid as Gibraltar......the kind of group we either are proud to be a part of or strive to become.
There is going to be some real blue plate specials in there too....roughly a dozen based on my non scientific estimates.
But not too many of them on here.

Thoughts and prayers to both Ashley and yourself.
Be strong and carry what you can.
