Now that the 2014 race season is winding down

Now that the 2014 race season is winding down - 11/07/14 03:44 AM

What were your best race track moments this year. My favorite was Matt winning the no-box class at Quaker City during the Curt George Memorial race. Matt is a tough foot-braker and took on Nick Bowman and got the win. Nick is as tough as they come and for Matt to beat him was no east task. Matt also had a great season at a couple of norwalk races and at PRP. My only moments were a couple of new bests but for a Father your glory comes from seeing your kids do good. Looking forward to 2015 and some new challenges.

Having my son clinch his 3rd NSS championship was the icing on the cake.

John...Made my first pass in two years. In a 2014 Challenger SXT!! I hope that I can keep getting stronger and get cleared to drive my 64 in 2015!

I only made one outing, and the best moment was just now, remembering I am alive to talk about it! May 10, 11 weekend I raced, the 15th(wed) had a heart attack and as a result a double bypass surgery. Not many survive a 100 percent blockage of the artery they call the widowmaker. I did obviously, and with very little heart damage! recovery went well, and I am now rehabing a total left knee replacement to boot! If the right knee holds out for a while, I hope to get out more in 2015

I did not know that Greg. Good thing for modern medicine or us old farts would be dead!

I hear both you guys on that one. I had a heart attach at work the day after the super bowl in 1999. I kept working finishing my 5 down-day maintenance jobs before going to the dispensary and then taken to the hospital. I lost 1/4 of my heart that day by being stubborn and thinking it was my back acting up again. Health,Family,Faith makes everyday a pleasure to wake up in the morning and being able to keep doing the things we love. Best of luck to you guys.

Ted, I hadn't said anything before because of the license issue .But after seeing the tests post surgery, I feel pretty sure there won't be an issue, the EKGs and ultrasound look like a new heart!

I don't get an MRI till May 2015. I know my car can tickle the high 9s. But to keep on the safe side I would be happy to go 10.20-10.30. Just in case I run it at Tri-State which is an NHRA track. Cedar Falls is IHRA but I want to see what they have in store for next year.
