Cup style lash adjusters

Just wondering how a cup style adjuster oils the pushrod tip with through shaft oiling. Does that cup not act like an umbrella?

those adjusters usually have a hole all of the way through so oil will get in there. i run a pushrod with an oil hole as well and noticed since doing so the ends have less marking.

I noticed one set of adjusters that had the hole but did not see how the oil would get from the hole in the rocker to the hole in the adjuster.
