Track racing question - 10/15/14 04:27 PM

Going to take Road runner to track again this weekend and plan on doing a few onsite adjustments

First off I plan on dis connecting the front sway bar.. Do I need to disconnect both sides or just one side to make inoperable?

Second I run 275/60-15 nitto drag radials, I am thinking about running 15 psi of pressure, is that two low?

Finally I for a set of Rancho adjustable shocks for back with 9 settings. I run 3600 SS springs, what I have read on here is most guys like it at setting 7, 8 for stiffness? Is that a good ball park

Here is the ride again 1972 road runner with mild 440 in it, and ayto transmission.. I got 90/10 shocks up front, and the rest is stock. Back super stock springs, pinion snubber and Rancho shocks

Thanks in advance

If you are going to unhook the sway bar do both sides. I tried it once on a mild 440 (12.90 in a 3850lb car) and it didn't do anything.
15lbs in a drag radial is to low. Try 22 to start with. No idea on the shocks, but w/ the SS springs you won't need the snubber. What are you shooting for?

Unhook both sides, 16-18# of air and 7 is probably an ok starting point on the shocks.

Have fun!

X2 on the no snubber. Footbraking you will not touch it.

Should run mid-high 12's w/ a 1.65 or so sixty foot.

Hope So, what would be a good launch rpm? It has 3.55 gears so I plan on shifting early like 5200 to maximize top end hp

If you can get enough runs, try moving the shift RPM up and down in both 1st and 2nd gear Look at the 60 ft., 330 and 660 times Use what works best

That is the plan Cab, my friend!

I figure this could be some fun experimenting!
