Brad, mine are around .020/.025 thick and I have pulled the covers off 4 times or better on each side. Not sure what covers you are using, but if they are stock cast B1, a thick gasket can crack them if not careful. FYI

Koffel sells a really thin one that works the best I've seen..
Just put vaseline on them and your good to go..

oh I have used your gaskets on my other engine and have them on the new engine. just used some VC gaskets that came with it .

we use the ones Koffels sells,and we run the valves after pass,haven't seen the crew chief change one yet.
