Comp Ultra pro magnum rockers?

Looking for feedback on the Ultra pro magnum rockers. They are bushed, and have adjusters that use ball-end pushrods.

I think I read on here(?) that they will handle high spring pressures (I seem to remember 600 open).

They are basically the same price as Harland Sharp rockers, which I already know have very good feedback.

I'm going to be using them on a 493 with edelbrock RPM heads, solid flat tappet cam. I may upgrade to a solid roller in the future, and would want to make sure these Ultra pro rockers would handle those sorts of spring pressures...

any thoughts? again, these are the bushed ones.. the ones they sold a few years back weren't bushed and i heard of galling with high spring pressures. thanks.

I've had them in my 430 small block

They have better geometry and are lighter then the HS

I've made 627 hp and spun it to over 7 grand with several solid roller cams and never had an issue.

Is this a street car, or a race car?

The Comps are a nice little rocker. The price has been driven higher and higher every year, but still a pretty nice piece. At that level, I use the Comps and Hughes rockers. Once into a full race application, then I think its best for H/S, T&D etc.

The alignment issue on Edelbrocks is just thjat. an issue. Years ago I had H/S change the roller wheel axle to better accomodate the Eddy heads.The axle simply has to be moved. The rockers were originally designed for iron heads, and even early and later version of Eddys seemed to have changed, even though they say no. So yes, unless you order H/S set up for Eddys, you'll have the issue that DJV has shown.

Again, for a non aggressive race lobe, or a street/strip type application, the Comps and Hughes have worked great....

Comp, it's a 90%+ street car. I think even if it gets a solid roller cam some day, it'll still be mostly a street car so it sounds like these will work well for me.

Just to understand the rocker geometry pics, those are both in the closed position, and with the alum rocker it looks as it moves to the center as valve opens and is under higher load, but then as it reaches max lift it moves somewhat back, but how much? The CM rocker is centered? in the pic so as valve opens and under more load it moves off center, but does it move back towards center at max lift? I suspect this is all a compromise solution anyway, but just want to clear what we are seeing here.

My advice is to buy one rocker arm and see how it fits. Rocker arm geometry for Mopar engines is all over the map. You can usually order one arm from the company and just put it on a spare shaft to see how it looks and fits. You'll learn a lot if you buy one rocker arm from each company and line them all up on a shaft next to each other.
