factory crossram intake bolts torque specs - 07/22/14 07:38 PM
The problem I'm having is that I have to torque bolts to 40 foot pounds to make the gasket seal. The heads are Indy ez1 gaskets are super performance 6415 .062 thick heads are not milled. I'm thinking intake might be I tried propane didn't here any change .

40# is spec for the intake of any kind I think.

That’s way too much on those bolts going into the aluminum head – I have the same set-up with x-ram and the EZ-1 heads - I just snug them and never had an issue with sealing – I would bet the intake has been shaved or you are hung up on the Indy valley tray cover bolts – I had to switch them out on the ends with machine screws to get the intake to set right

So how do I know what thickness of intake gaskets to order and are super performance gaskets stackable? I changed the valley bolts to a flat style and there is no interference.

I know the Indy gaskets come in .060 and .030 and yes you can stack them - looks like super performance also comes in .031
