Dry sump inlet - 07/02/14 12:51 AM

OK question for you guys running dry sump oil systems. Where are you putting the oil back into the engine? Spent half the weekend trying to mount the tank now just curious where everyone is putting oil back in the motor? Oh yeah it is a BB Mopar, the 99 was easy as the inlet was the back of the block. Pics are a plus

Oh yeah I have looked at the plates AndyF makes. Just wondering if this is the best place or is there an alternative?

On a BBM would it work to put a fitting in the valley pan and route it their? I'm new to this stuff and have a SBM lol

Well looks like my suspicions are confirmed and the best, maybe only way back is though the stock hole. We have it covered was just looking for any new ideas/thoughts on the subject. My new mill will be off to the machinist this weekend hope to have it back late August. Will let you all know what kind of power it makes.

Tony, what is the small line on the adapter for? Assume oil pressure?

I am a smallblock guy but I thought the old school racers would take oil off the back of the block and plumb it into the lifter area to get more oil to one of the mains to help oil the crank/ rods. It would seem like a good idea to run a small line there unless it is no longer needed with newer blocks etc.

AndyF also makes another one that comes out different.

I make several different block plates. Some engine builders prefer a NPT fitting while others want an o-ring or AN fitting. Some want the fitting to come straight out, others want the fitting pointed to the front.

Tap the main oil feed hole (feeds the block ,Big hole)where the pump mounts .install a #12 fitting..Tap the oil feed hole and put a plug in it.this is the hole that comes from where the oil pick up tube feeds but do it at the oil pump mounting pad (block side)...and move on..run a tube in the lifter vally to pull oil out of there looks like a spider..<if your push rod oiling..Theres alot more but you will learn
