Guess I'm going to have to add some weight to the front of my Duster. Just wants to keep getting higher on the wheel stands. Went to Goodyear front runners & lighter wheels last year. It started to come up more losing that weight. Now I added TTI step headers & she got worse. Going the hang 10# on each side. Hope that does it to get things back under control. No wheelie bars here, sorry don't like the look on my car. Car still went 1.40 60' w/pedaling it to get it back to earth. Ran 10# in the Goodyears as well. Any input would be great.
Thanks, Ken Michalik

Hey John, it's a Ladder bar rear w/stock front suspension w/90-10 shocks. It has a Turbo 400 w/trans brake, Dana 60 w/4.88 gears. It weighs 3060 dry, not sure of race weight. The stall is I think 5200, leave at 3600 & let it flash from there. The rr tires are 31x14 Good Years. Like I said it always ran the tires about 2 feet in the in the air. Took some weight out of the front & this is the result. Like I said I'm going to try bolting 10# to each side on the front of the frame horns. Think that will put things back in place.
Thanks, Ken

I had good results running Koni SPA1 adjustable shocks, but switched to externally adjustable QA1 Stocker Stars. I wanted to control the front end rise and be able to quickly dial it in without removing the shocks. It seemed to make a difference in wheelstand height while trying to find the initial proper setting, but I haven't needed to "open her up" in VG weather conditions yet to really test my theory.

Adjustable front shocks will help slow the rise down. 90/10 is really loose on extension. If you can lower the front position of the ladder bar that would help too. Maybe even consider front end travel limiters.

I would try raising the starting line RPM to see if that reduces the amount of the wheelstand

try lowering the launch rpm, I bet it helps

Front shocks. Are yours adjustable, most are. 50/50 70/30 90/10. Mine are and they werent top dollar shocks either. Start there IMO

You may want to consider a ladder bar adjustment, car looks great regardless

If all else fails, you can drop to a 4.30 gear. It might not cost you more than a couple of hundredths ? From 4.88 to 4.30 is a 12 percent cut in torque off the line. The good thing is the converter multiplies torque longer with less gear.

My vote is front shocks, need to slow the front end down.

Frankly I can't believe I read through this and the OP( who I am sure is a nice guy and has a beautiful car) is unaware having non adjustable 90/10 shocks on a wheelstander wouldn't be the first thing to throw in a garbage can.
Even a cheap CE type 3 way shock set on 70/30 or 80/20 would have an immediate impact .. Much less a higher quality shock.
Sorry just for to mention that. They are Lakewood adjustable front shocks on the car. Was late when I posted last night. Thanks, Ken

limiter's on front, to much travel.
