LOL,

I think most of them were still asleep after the the 1 hour hour Oil down....(Anti-freeze)

The Wheelstanding of days passed has been adressed, Tighter OEM shocks up front and Stephen Daurity's adjustments to the rear have helped out with that Big time.

This time next year (the good Lord willing) I'll be there with a 10 second Rocky and an 11 second tow rig

You just a little more track time and tuning to get it where you want to be. Every trip you have been getting closer to your goal. You gotta remember we had 120 plus track temps and not very good air < 1500' all day. I think you are in the short rows now, back to work.

I think you're right buddy, I should have borrowed some MSD pills for the 2 step. And your right, every time it's going quicker and quicker.

Yeah I didn't even think about the air and track temps, the starting line was pretty good for Rockingham but the track temps sucked. So all things considered I was really happy and never even touched the motor the whole day...even still I don't think I'll get real happy until it's solidly in the 10's.

Or why not, as you said a year ago:

"But even If the guy next to me ran a 10.99 in a z06 or whatever then I would have just let my Mopar stroker EAT and busted off a 10.79 and carried the wheels the first 100 feet ;-)....just sayin' ."

It's been a year, why not let that bad boy "eat" finally ? If it would have "busted off" a 10.79 a year ago....should run low 10's after adding a new converter and bigger headers.

It's getting there, just not progressing as quickly as I'd like. That pass against the Z06 was the very first full pass down the track and that night I knew it had more in it (maybe not a 10.79 but quicker than the easy pass I made.

I'm frustrated sure but it's still fun, last year I worked an AVERAGE of 56 hours a week and with the nearest 1/4 mile tracks (Darlington and Rockingham) both 1 1/2 hours away, I got it out only a couple times.

And it was well over a year ago, my Dad enjoyed the vid and he passed away nearly a year and 1/2 ago now

Hey I'm sorry it's not getting there as quickly as we'd like but hey, I'm doing the best I can. With a kid in college and another in high school I think I'm doing good to get it out as often as I have.... sorry if it sounds selfish but I'm more focused right now on having fun with the little bit of spare time I do get with the car....and especially my friends like Chip and his Dad, Jim

I have to say that all along I was not a fan of this Rocky--just thought there were so many better choices for your bullet but....that pix of the wheels in the air changed my mind and I am now an official fan!
I mean...you are fighting city hall with that short of a wheelbase but man that thing looks very cool wheels up and you know it will really p&$# off a bunch of Vette owners to get clobbered by a Rocky
No matter what...Just have some FUN!
Way to go!!

Thanks David!!

It's FUN, and that's the main thing.

Also, I did a little more research on the aero, the Rocky is .65 and a Duster is .50, a HUMMER H2 is .62 the Rocky is worse than an H2!!

Maybe I'll mold me a .29 CD Daytona style nose and graft it on and it'll go 130 instead of 119 ha!!

I may talk to Lenny soon about making me an 8" vert, seems like most of the SB strokers in the mid-high 10's are running them...

I'll try to swap out the 261/268 .585/.570 Cam Motion Roller with the 260/269 .668/.645 Bullet roller before I run it again. The new cam will take better advantage of the better +.550 lift of the heads and should help top end power with no downside (other than more violent valve motion) to the torque curve.

I also plan on rebuilding the brakes to get it to hold better while staging, that should let me bump up the pill another 400 or so and hopefully between the 2 mods help my 60' and 1/8th times.

I thought you were doing that this weekend....you said it would take you less than an hour.

Well I forgot that when I wrote that it would be Easter week-end, that's family time....if that's ok with you

BTW , when I said that I could change the cam in an hour...with this car pretty much anybody with power tools could too...it's just the way the rocky is set up, in fact, pulling the whole motor and trans could probably be done about as quick as a cam swap thanks to it's "Alien Rib Burst" design.
