8.75 just east of St Louis. Much more than that and I'm thinking E-85.

I run 93 it is around $3.40 at the moment. I bought some 110 a couple of years ago at the track and it was $9.00. That is why I went with a pump gas motor.

Do they mix the winter blend with the summer blend there?
Posted By: AAR-B4

Re: how much is race fuel in your area? - 04/13/14 01:27 PM

This is the time of year the mix will be back to 85/15. I bought E-85 at Thorntons 2 weeks ago ($3.29) and it checked at 78/22. I have never found any less than 78% ethanol at any station at any time of year.
I do not make any carb changes and can't say that there is any performance difference. I do not try to tune for every last 1/100th ET. I bracket race and the ET is what it is for that day.

Here, C12 is £85 or $140 per 5 gallon (US) drum.
Super unleaded (your 93) is around $8 per imperial gallon.
The currently being built 655 is a pump gas motor.

I think it's close to $9/gallon. No worries I have a snow performace meth/H2O kit. It has more than paid for itself.

Where are you finding this? It might be worth the trip for me. And what brand?

don't know my local race fuel price, but I did find a new race fuel called RENEGADE. they claim to be every bit as good as VP, but with better pricing. 95 octane unleaded 5gal for $38 and the Rat man 108oct. oxygenated for $48/5gal. pal. that's about $25 less per pal compared to VP. anyone here ever use Renegade race fuel?

There are a few places actually.

Phillips 66 (I think) on Lemay Ferry and Butler Hill in South County. Across from Kutis Funeral Home.

Phillips 66 at 1502 Jeffco Blvd in Arnold. (Next to Ace Hardware.)

A little further south is the truck stop at Hwy 55 and Hwy Z. (Right by the I-55 Raceway in Pevely.)

I believe all of those stations sell Renegade Racing Fuel. The first 2 stations are owned by the same guy. He's got a mess of hot rods and such. I've actually been told that he will give a price break if you buy 30 gallons or more. I have not verified that though.

I'll go to Sieveking in High Ridge off of Hwy 30 at times to get some Sunoco 110. It's about $8.00 a gallon though. They also sell VP fuels, but not at the pump.

You have to bring your own container to all of the stations though...not allowed to pump directly into the vehicle. (Unless on a trailer. Sieveking does not have that option...their pump is behind a fenced area.)

I use the Renegade and found no difference between it and Sunnoco.

I have run it before with no problems. I just add a little marvel mystery oil. I just hear people back and forth about the pros and cons of it. High altitude, low rpm blah blah blah. There is a website that sells race gas and of course they tell you how bad av gas is

I had done a search for av gas on moparts and there was a post talking about dyno results of av gas and race gas, but I couldn't read the post

How do you guys transport a drum home and then unload it out of the truck. I hear people say they roll the drum out onto old tires

Re: how much is race fuel in your area? - 04/14/14 02:21 AM

Drum in the bed of the truck. Use a barrel clamp and overhead hoist to pick it up, and then drive out from under it.

92 & 93 pump is about $3.95 a gallon right now in Md. I believe 110 race gas is about $10. a gallon. We have a Sunoco that I think still has 98 at the pump and its almost $10. a gallon also. I run the pump but this pump gas seems to get worse every year so I think about every third tank of pump I may add a few gallons of race gas. Ron

Have used the 100LL for over 15 years with no problems . It does stain your carb but you should clean it now & then anyway . Change filter once a year everything is fine . Gary

LMAO try $250 Aussie per 20 litres which is about 4.5 gallons for VP ms109. Normal unleaded fuel here is 1.50 /litre.

$750.00 for a 45 gallon drum of VP C-12 up here.

That equates to about $14.00 / US gallon & US dollars . A "Little" pricey, but what do you do if you need it....

It seems to creep up about 10% every year, but what doesn't....?
