4-link rod ends? - 04/12/14 02:46 PM
when or how often should you change rod ends? metal fatigue or wear factors, stress etc. is there any way to tell when they should be changed other than failure?

You can feel the ball getting sloppy in the housing...
if you clean and lube them you can get years out of them

What's the best way to lube them?
And the best lube?

My rod ends are solid, the thought was just fatigue of metal. at stress point, just trying to be safe, getting to old to get hurt, lost an end on ladder bar car once in top end shut down, was not easy to control even though the safty strap cought it.
I usually get a few runs out of mine but when I make one of those elusive 4 sec. runs I like to change them before the next round just in case of excessive vibrations that might weaken the integrity of the metal I look forward to seeing the BigDog and Special Kay soon!!
