My total rearend with is 51in.wheel mounting flange to flange,what should my housing width be,bearing flange to flange?

Which rear end housing, brand and size, and which axles and brakes are you wanting to use?

8 3/4 stock axles sorry should have put that in my post.I my math is correct it should be 47 15/16 flange to flange

To get the housing width subtract 5.05" from the axle flange width then factor in the thickness of the drums or discs that mount on the axle flange.

2 1/2" axle stand-off per side + whatever the thickness of the drum/rotor.

With drum brakes I would say 45 3/4" bearing flange to bearing flange.
