$200.00 test pass!

$200.00 test pass! - 03/19/14 03:53 AM

Ran points race #2 in Vegas this past weekend. While I still haven't found my comfort zone at the tree, the car has been unbelievably predicatable. Ran a 10.994 on the first pass. Second pass you could either go for test pass #2..... or go to the "run for the money" lane and put a dial on for a $20 hit. Put a 10.99 on and ran a 10.99......."0". that was good for 200 bones!

Made it to round 4 for the second time this year, but went .011 red against the final winner. I NEED to get comfortable with this car!!! We got a great ride with a not so great driver right now.

With the car running this well and predictable, it can take a lot off of the driver. Then the driver gets comfortable and convidence builds. Thats a tough combination to beat. And never forget rule #1, HAVE FUN!

Define "cheap" Darryl! stranger things have happened. You're right though... this iron head 360 was only set in place to get fitted for the chassis changes and to make sure I had a set of headers to complete a swap for the "back up plan". I need to get back to plan "A"..... but looking at the results I "might" be #2 in points

For those of us with a poor memory, what is your car/combo now?

1970 Duster. presently has our iron headed low buck 360 in it, but eventually will be W8 powered. Car has been in the family awile, but my dad hung up his helmet so we liquidated down to one car and decided to keep the Duster rather than the Mirada which I'd had 26 years. The Duster was very 9's capable with the W5 mill we had, but continuous water probs and an eventual rod failure ended that era. I've had the car caged and equipped with a tube K rack steering coil over set up at Comp Chassis and will be getting in certed and licenced eventually.
