Could you use that to set valve lash or easier with feeler gauges ?

great idea,but the real trick is ,how do you keep all the oil from runnin out on the floor?

Probably easier with feeler gauges - although I have never tried it with a dial indicator ( other than my old P&G valve gaper). Just too much wiggle with the stud style rocker mount. My cam card calls for .012" on both in. & ex. I use a .012 and a .014. .012 won't go in = too tight. .014 goes in = too loose. I just use that set up for checking cam condition / lift. Anything within a .010" - .012" range is acceptable.
