Re: Headhunter's favorite color is orange - 01/27/14 09:29 PM

its exactly the same as what I ran at drag week except for aluminum stuck to cylinder walls, pistons that rattled, one new rod, some new rod bolts, and a new carb

I guess its a 428 or so now, 11-1, 600ish/250 cam

That's the best looking late Hemi I've ever seen. I'm a big fan of painted engine parts, they stay nice longer. You've done a great job of "de-ugling" the late Hemi.

Ray
how did u get rid of the big ugly reinforcing cover on the G III. Or did u just modify a stock one for it. Any pictures of the build before the motor plate that would show more details.
Thanks. Jerry

My neighbors cut off my internet by putting a password on their modem thing so i'm on my phone. Member NHRA Mark and his partner makes the plate and may have a cnc program for the cover now. They did my cover

Re: Headhunter's favorite color is orange - 01/28/14 05:48 AM

do you think with that intake and a low profile elbow for a throttle body a stock hood would fit on your car?

It might be possible. Motor sits high in my car but it can be lowered. I bet an inch could still come off the short intake. The low profile elbow is not very good. Why not just use a stock intake?

Ari, stock coils i think. Bought them on ebay cheap

You have me confused. Im still not convinced about the g3. I. Srill have the car wired for thw big block and only need to hook up 1 wire during changeover

Re: Headhunter's favorite color is orange - 01/28/14 07:28 PM

I was referring to a post I thought you said in another thread that your car runs 10.0's and does it without any plug wires. Just a joke. At the power level you're at a BB is stupid reliable, but I bet at the end of the day the Gen 3 is alot less maintenance. In time you'll know.

Damn funny right there....

Did you dyno it after the latest thrashing? And if not, how much hp do you think its going to produce, and what do you figure it was at prior?

And what size carb are you going with? Bet its a 950-1000...I hear they like a lot of carburator, but I am curious.

I got a good deal on a new 1050 dom. I figure 600 hp should get me a 10.00 but it didnt do it at drag week. I'm pretty confident that the carb i used at drag week needed alot more attention than it recieved. We will see as soon as the polar vortex ends
