Testing MSD RPM-Activated Switch - 12/24/13 11:36 PM

Just got my car running and have a msd 8950 RPM-Activated Switch to shift and put a 3000 chip in it and it doesn't shift. If I put 12 volts to shifter it will shift. Is there anyway to test the msd RPM-Activated Switch? Or time for a new one?

if you have the MSD 8998 tester you can hook it up and check your complete system out

You are using a relay to trigger the shifter.. right
the chip will complete the ground to trigger the relay

Thanks I will recheck the wiring. maybe I have wrong solenoid for shifter. just put in a different style one and always used yellow wire from rpm switch to solenoid.thanks
