What's the best way to branch off a power wire?

What's the best way to branch off a power wire? - 10/14/13 02:01 AM

I'm pleased to say I installed a complete Rebel-Wire 9+3 kit in my Duster and all the lights work perfectly!

My question is, I have a red wire marked 'Gauge Power' which will give power to all my aftermarket gauges, the wire comes from the Rebel-Wire fuse panel. What is the best way to take one wire and branch it off to different gauges? In the past I would have wound all the wires together and soldered it, I'd like to do something nicer on this car and maybe even have a seperate fuse for each gauge?

Would this work? How do I get power to each tab?

They make sheet metal jumpers for the type on the right side of the picture. I have some if you need them.

So the red power wire would attach to one end of this panel, and that will give the whole panel power, correct?

Do you have a photo of them Doug? Do they go on the first photo I posted, or the 2nd photo?

thx. really not hard. to do, make a plan first, then get a piece of aluminum, lay it out, mount the stuff anf then go. I usually make them bigger and mount the msd on it also. This one was for my truck so since i mounted my Mallory box on the glove box door i didn't need to mount it there.

Some good Ideas posted above. I get terminal strips from the local marine supply outlet. They usually have all kinds of nice terminal strips in stock.

Yea that's definitely not happening lol. I'm just glad all the wires worked, they are not pretty.

The Rebel-Wire 9+3 kit was $169 but I wish I'd bought a bigger kit as I had to run wires for the backup lights, cell phone charger(cig lighter) etc.
Plus I added relays to the marker lights, one to high beams, one to low beams, and one for the fuel pump. The fuse panel goes on the drivers side of the dash for all the wires to reach properly.

I was amazed that I was able to buy all the sockets for my whole car at any store! I bought most of it from O'Reilleys.
The rear taillight sockets are number 85860.

I have all the part numbers at home, and RockAuto.com tells you all the part numbers for the sockets and bulbs. I'm an idiot at wires but I really enjoyed doing this, now I know every wire and socket on my car is brand new.

I had some questions and rebel-wire was very helpful and ProStDodge here on Moparts was a huge help.

I used terminal strips myself when doing the dash of the oil rig. I used one positive feed and then little jumper wires to energize all the other feeds.

Got them from radio shack, whats good about them vs the ones you showed,. You dont need to put ends on the wires. The terminals I got you shoved the wire in the hole and tightend it by the terminal screw. Done deal with a little die electric grease.

Here's mine. If look close at the terminal strip you can see the jumpers on the left to white wires.

Bigtime you do really nice work!
Where did you get the fuse panel/holder in the pic? I like it a lot better than the one I got from Autozone.
Thanks, Don
