The poor car strapped helplessly to the dyno. N/A through mufflers on pump E85. I've since made 1025 at the tire in the same configuration, but have to wait for the sun to return to go to the track
I compete in MC (Muscle car category) which permits only few modifications. For example only pure radial tires are allowed and adjustable shocks are not permitted. My best e.t. is 12.27 @113 mph which is also an Icelandic national record for that class. My Charger weighs 4118 lbs. and has full interior with electric windows.
Thanks Bob. I think I can put up one more. Next year I'm keeping it on the ground. I have alot of suspension tuning to do. In this video, there is a wisp of smoke a little ways off the line, watching it on the big screen it is tire smoke. It unloads the tires, but still keeps going up. I really like the new Prosport(Dart) by the way!
Beware it's a 67 Ford 6.90 @ 230 MPH . Watch the front wheels closely as it approaches the traps and if you can, freeze frame it just as it goes out of view....front wheels appear to be about a foot off the ground!
Before Tony Schumacher made what is now dubbed "The Run" of all time, Joe Amato clinched the title from Gary Ormsby at Pomona in 1990....battle went to the finals, last run of the day...it was a tight points battle, Ormsby smoked em and Amato clinched the title. Amato later proclaimed had he known Gary Ormsby was quietly battling terminal cancer, he'd have given him the win and the championship.
Here's something else you don't see everyday (thankfully). Blade-off testing of a turbo fan jet engine. This test is to prove the retaining capability of the fan retaining case which serves to protect the aircraft from shrapnel should the fan fail by containing it all within itself...
One more; slow to load, but worth the wait...hands down, this is one of the best in car rides you'll find out there IMO...turn it up loud and get ready for a treat!!
Here's my favorite all time video, not because I won but because we had so much fun before, during, and after the run. Just a couple mild street cars running through exhaust systems.
Rick is quicker now with that wicked small block. More vids to come this year of me seeing his taillights.
