Racing in Salt Lake this weekend. - 09/25/13 03:44 AM

Hey if any of you guys on here are in the area and heading out to Rocky Mountain Raceway in Salt Lake this weekend come by and say hello. Always love meeting new members and going to a new race track. We will be running the Divisional race there this weekend in the car in my signature. So stop by if you are out there and introduce yourself. Even if I look busy or grumpy

I hear it said that I often look grumpy..Must be the same face I have used when young men have wanted to date my daughters and meet me for the first time. It's a father thing

Supposed to be cool and dry this weekend, so what kind of food do you like?

Re: Racing in Salt Lake this weekend. - 09/27/13 01:18 AM

Its not cold there Al, take Interstate 80 about 80 miles east and then it will be cold, and I would bet the wind will be blowing. I used to live there so Im pretty sure Im right. I have a couple of old friends that will be running stock there, father and son, they dont do message boards, but really good guys, Brian and Jesse Sanderson, 63 Plymouth and a 74 Dart, give them a shout if you see them, great guys, really good racers. Tell them Wyoming "Glenn" said hello.

Couple months back Tommy D told me it'd be nice there this time of year. Sure glad I didn't make the 900 mile tow. It sound like we almost have better weather here. Hope you get the race in.

It's going to be a nice weekend, should be good ET numbers with this air, if it holds. I would plan on coming early next year Dick. The place is packed....enjoy that beer.

Re: Racing in Salt Lake this weekend. - 09/30/13 06:40 AM

Well...that could've went better. Blodgett takes out Al and Jess, then wins the final.

Don't get me wrong, Al added points today, and put some distance between himself and quite a few in the top ten, but Blodgett is a streaky racer, and not someone you want to see get hot.

Re: Racing in Salt Lake this weekend. - 09/30/13 09:07 AM

To my own defense the car was doing great driver could of been better roll up to the staging just ready to pull up the next pair of S/ST cars and someone yells at me you have a flat tire up front day is done. Just ran 11.348 on the 11.35 index was ready for Blodgett never got the chance

Re: Racing in Salt Lake this weekend. - 09/30/13 05:45 PM

Well Billy I just made a dumb finish line mistake, all my fault. I was .009 on the tree and had the advantage there, and was on a 11.354 and gave it back. Stupid mistake and just did not trust the numbers. Actually never went around him just sat on his door for the last 100'. Live and learn first time Mike has ever beaten me. I feel ok with basically a 6 round lead and the last two races being in my backyard where I went to the final and semi's at these last two last year and won the last race here. So we will see.

BTW CONGRATS to Jess as I believe he is now in first place in D6. Maybe we can get to Mopars to be div champs this year.
