Would you let a dyno sim program pick your cam?

If you gave two different cam suppliers a boat load of info on your combination, got two different cam recommendations back, and gave all the same information to someone else with a fairly sophisticated engine simulation program to compare, would you base your cam choice on the results of that program?

Just for comparison sake I`d check out the differences...........why not. Then, I`d pick my own.........

The simulation showed both cams will make really close to the same peak hp at basically the same rpm, but one of them will have a bit of a torque advantage at and below where my converter flashes.

The simulation is a ball park figure. I question the hp peaks and hp levels sometimes.
I would trust an expert before a simulation for the final choice.

That`s why I said after all of that, I`d pick my own and even Bullet Cams agreed w/my grind but definately no expert just lucky I guess..........

There are big dollar programs that most of the engine
builders use... but if its a $29 program dont expect
much... I have one program thats damn good.. thats
a good hour just to put the data in and then hit run

It's some $400 or $500 "pro" software, not a cheap one.

The owner said not to take the numbers at face value, but the trends it shows seem to compare pretty realistically to actual engine dyno results he's compared the program to.

buy both cams and do some testing, only way you'll ever know for sure which is faster
