Those cams are on a 110 lsa,Mopar recommended them in at 108. A lot of guys advance MP cams further than the 2 degrees Mopar recommended . It really depends on the rest of the combination, heavy cars tend to like them advanced.

I have a Comp Cams magnum series timing set it allows 4* advance and 4* retarded is there any way to get only 2* out of it so I can just install it at Mopar's recommended centerline? It's a pretty mild combo 10.5cr with eddy heads, 3.72 gear and 3000 converter. all in a 3200lb duster.

Seen those installed in the 104 range too.

Pick a spot and go. Want more low end, especially with lower compression, put it in more than 2* advanced.

Put it in at the 4* advanced BUT I would advise you
to degree the cam... its too easy for the factory OR
you to be off.. by degreeing it you KNOW where it is...
if you dont have the equipment or dont know how then
ask a buddy or take it to a shop.. they shouldnt
charge you much

110 c/l cam I never like to go under a 105-106 install c/l, that's me .
I would have rather bought a cam that was at 105 c/l , then put that one in at @ 102 c/l! That's just me thing,

I agree with Mr. P.

Just because you put the timing chain set at +4 doesn't mean the cam is anywhere near that. And combo is important. But a typical combo suitable for that cam likes the -installed intake centerline 104-106 ATC.

If the combo likes less than that, it is the wrong cam.

So you would rather the cam company cuts the keyway with more advance rather than use an offset cam key? Basically your doing the same thing. Unless you are confusing lsa with icl.

I had the .557 in my old 906 headed 440 on a 104 centerline. Drove real nice and ran 11.49 @ 116 in my 3700 lb 63 on pump thru the pipes. Ron

Thanks guys. I have the proper tools to degree the cam I just wanted to make sure 106* would be ok or I should just install it straight up. Thanks again, Can't wait to get this thing back together. The stock 906's have held this thing back long enough.

i had a 557 in my 10.3:1 496 installed at 108, and it felt flabby down low. it was fast, but i'd definitely install that at LEAST 4° advanced. i changed to a 509, straight up, and it feels MUCH torqueer, and it's faster, too.
