Valve cover clearance....small block (F.A.S.T. guys)??

Alright you LA guys...Help a big block/Hemi guy...

I am working on a small block Dart Swinger 340. The motor has Crane Gold's. What are my valve cover options if I want stock appearance? The customer had given me some Direct Connection chrome covers which I know arent stock appearing but he would go with them...They look like they will not work, even if I took the oil baffles out.

BTW its NOT a FAST type of car, so we dont HAVE to have a stock cover on it, just something that is "Kinda" stockish..

Anyway, lets hear your opinions on my options here....Want to get this one out of here...

I had to peen in the baffle on mine in about four spots because the adjuster would make contact. My rockers do not have real tall adjusters like some I have seen.

Try 2 gaskets....

I drag my plasma cutter right through the center of the baffle, then I peel the two halves open and clean out all the junk that is hiding up there, then I fold them back together with clearance in mind and tac weld then in their "A frame" position.

I've had the biggest rockers never touch anything. I do the same treatment on the big blocks too. Mostly to clean out the junk.

Jeff, I assume you are running a stock valve cover?...no?
