Window net question??

My 70' Challenger is certed for 7:50 (25.5) also. Won't be running near that anytime soon at the rate I am going. Yes, a window net is required with a f.c. cage. Here is how we did mine.

If your car requires a cage, then a window net is also required, no matter what the ET is.

The operative word here is "requires". If your running in the 10s you do not require a cage and therefore even if you have a cage a window net is not required. If you run a 9.99 you are "required" to have a cage and there are also "required" to have a window net. as mentioned above the exception is that if you run 135 or more in the 10s then you must meet the same requirements as if you were running in the 9s.

If you have removed the firewall, or replaced the flooring in your car with tin, you are required to have a full cage, and under that same rule a window net is then required. If the car is certed to run 7.50 it must use a window net regardless of Et or speed. Doubtful? Go to a track with one of these vehicles and attempt to get through tech without one.

6:3 WINDOW NET
An SFI 27.1 ribbon-type or mesh-type window net is mandatory on
any full-bodied car required by the rules to have a roll cage. Window
net must be securely mounted on the inside of the roll cage, with
the permanent attachment at the bottom. All attachment points
must be designed in an attempt to protect the driver and avoid
contact with track surface or guardwall. Eyelet clips, dogleash
hardware, hose clamps, etc. prohibited. Penetration of webbing,
except as performed by manufacturer, prohibited. Any modification
to net must be performed by manufacturer.

ROLL CAGE
Roll cage mandatory in cars running 10.99 (*6.99) or quicker or any
car exceeding 135 mph. In full-bodied cars, with unaltered firewall,
floor, and body (from firewall rearward, wheeltubs permitted),
running between 10.00 (*6.40) and 10.99 (*6.99), roll bar permitted
