New personal best

Thanks guys for the help on the transmission fluid pan question. Got it tapped with new threads and good to go. Then my son John drove to a new best with 1.325 60 ft, 6.149 at the 1/8th and a 9.746 at 135.21 mph. We keep working it down. Not sure how much more we can get out of a 451 c.i. motor. Race day starts tomorrow!

Your car is running great, and 9.70's are good range to stay in IMO.

It starts to get expensive and less reliable when you go much faster...

I agree that anything much faster starts getting expensive. This car is a mild combination but has matched parts that work well together. I believe the car is about 2850 without driver. Prosport may tell us exactly. Temperature was about 59%, with very little wind and TAG weather predictor said a DA of about 1550. Air was good. Unfortunately on Saturday night John went -.011 red in the first round. Back to the drawing board.

Thanks for the comments. I forgot to add, was racing a chevy. As always, if car runs well and we stay safe,racing with a son or daughter and friends is the best, win or lose.
