Quote:This one spins without touching the ring gear I will jack it up on jack stands and get under it to see if I can fix easy or see if I can figure out what is wrong. It does have a thick mid plate and the starter was lossely bolted onto it when I pick the car up, I had to change the flexplate and add a spacer to get the converter end play right so who knows what is wrong now I can FIX IT, I have a wonderful set of tools I'm hoping and praying that it is a easy fix
Cab, I think starter engagement issues are common for that combination and that's why JW includes 3 or 4 spacers for the starter. I currently use 2 spacers on my smallblock and use one of the Mopsr mini starters that is at least 25 yrs old.
Quote:Don't forget you need a spacer that fits on the back side of the JW wheel to hold the GM converter snout.
I use the JW wheel flexplate and a GM converter.
