new mini starter,it had a 3500stall to a 4200,new tranny,did some body work,better transmisson cooler,header work thanks to Mr.P body,change rims&tires lighter front and going from 10x29 to 9x30 mite work better with 456gear with taller tires.(wish I had 4.10gear again because of 511rb)
I will try to put the K&N velocity stack to bring the air on 1" from the top of the scoop. That black spacer 2" gain a .1 on that intake in the 1/8 mile.
hey nice looking car. wear did you get that hood scoop at and how tall is it? i have one just like it but mine is plastic and is longer for some reason. i need a new one for my 73 duster. here is a pic of it on my 73 dart. best of luck mopar65
I had this scoop from 1975 its also plastic and never use it till now.I also added new valve springs for the streetroller cam from 190# on the seat to 210# ,and an upgrade on the fuelpump holley blue to a black pump. The scoop is 5"and cost $29.95 back then!!
My Duster has a 512 kit with a 575"/308* street roller and Eddy RPM
30*buckcut valves.3500 stall,4.56gear,10x29slicks.No street tire will hold on the street. When I had 4.10gear from 30mph roll it made 2 black marks over 40 or 50feet on the street.I just run it on 1/8mile 6.40s with 1.403to 1.41 60foot at the track.Shift at 5700 very depedable. So I hate to see if it had a bigger cam it dose have over 12to1 and 1.6 rockers and rans on 93 pumpgas with 33* on the timing.
Hope you don't mind, but I robbed this from another post. Runs pretty darn good...baby cam, baby converter and a Holley SD intake to boot! 6.40's equates to very low 10's...all on pump swill. LOVE IT ! ! !
I just got the velocity stack it was 1-1/2 from the top of the scoop, and the airpan helps keep the heat out from the headers.I will try to keep the wind in check.Maybe I can get it to work.
I love the old school hood. My car had on it back in the day. That is about 1975??? Yes that is a Ford in the back ground, Yes those are Little Kings in there hands!!!
what do they weigh it doesnt say on the website. looks like 15 x 4 fronts and 15 x 10 in rear. I run the Convo Pros now and looking to change to that style.
The rims was 18 1/2 or 19# on a bathroom scale, and the 9x30 slicks are 22#each I did do the front but forgot they were a few lb.lighter than the 6x14 rims&tires I had before.
My son James drives @ 170# the car was 3200# in the first picture, but now I think we took 80# off the front and I had 2 batterys in the back. We going to switch and run one at the time go to 1 holddown too..New fuel system 4gl. tank, was 5gl.with alum. line now SS braided line so.
I'am going the wrong way,the car ran a 6.88@99.Well now I have to find out where or what I changed I did.I know that it way low on trans-fluid for 1,I bent a header backing out thr trailer and my transmisson mount was out of in like 1" inch(well all the way on the drive line loop bolts)We put a big nut between the mount and the rubber to get it a little better after T/T it was getting faster each pass brokeout 6.88 on a 6.90 .It was .5 sec. slower. It went a 1 52 60' time
