Have any of you run a mechanical fuel pump w/ a roller cam in a big block or hemi?
How does the bronze tipped fuel pump pushrod hold up?

I have. I got about 3 years out of my first one before it wore about .030". It depends on how heavy a spring is in the pump. I'm running an Edelbrock pump which I think is a 130GPH pump

Im not running a roller but I have a Mech Pump on my Hemi.
I understand the distributor gear drive being bronze but why would there be a problem with the fuel Pump drive rod Roller or not?

The factory pushrod will get chewed up by the billet cam...just like the dist. drive gear.

I did. Notice past tense. I had a bronze tip push rod mushroom out and switched to an electric. I haven't thought twice about switching back.

I built a 499 a few years ago that goes to every cruise in within 50 miles of the house for a guy and it has worked fine for him Chip. Only time I have ever done that kind of setup but he has had no problems I am aware of.

Ive done it a couple of times with the bronze rod. Worked ok with a carter hemi pump. Truth told I didnt put a ton of miles on it, but never had any issues.
