cheetah shifter 70001b install - 03/29/13 12:07 AM

I have a question about mounting the shifter. according to directions it just sets on the floor? nothing in directions as far as proper way to mount the shifter. also, looks like its set up for forward pattern. how do I set it up for rev pattern? thanks

Mounts directly to floor. Cable goes forward, then loops toward rear of trans and then forward to shift lever on driver side of trans.
I just checked part#. It appears that it can come in forward or reverse pattern. No sure if you just need to change a sticker or the gate. Check with T/A or maybe someone else will chime in.

Comes with two decals one for forward and one for reverse. Just need to figure out rev set up.

Just turned bracket around so cable comes out back, now its rev pattern. Directions didnt mention mounting shifter or include mounting bolts,so i can just run a couple bolts thru the bracket to the floor and be done. Thanks

i made a plate to mount my shifter. i thought directly on the floor wasn't suiting my driving style. this does tho.

looks strong. my gates are alittle different than yours, one neutral. I have to pull lever over to get third, not sure i'll like that.

looks good. my gates are same as yours, but mine is rev. I think 3rd may be an issue for me.

when i first installed the shifter i had the TA brake with only 1 neutral, shifting into 3rd was never a problem after i relaxed & didn't get so violent with the shifter. quiet taps between gears & the shifter worked flawlesly. some members claimed they were missing second & going straight into 3rd, but as i said, relax & tap & it worked a dream. (i think some people are stressed when they race & make simple mistakes)

wire it to a point in front of the shifter so there's no chance you can snagg it.

When ever I had the miss second gear shift it was my CO2 was low . That is the only time It would go from 1st to 3rd . Don't know why that is but the only time it does it . Gary

its mounted and works real nice, just have to find a new place for the t brake button. i'm installing a plate between the seats for the ice ignition box so it will probably be mounted to that plate. thanks for your help.

the button on the shifter is too slow for brake use. it works but the action is slow. i use that button for the line lock & fitted a superior button on the steering wheel.

I used the button on the shifter for line loc. I had the t brake button mounted in the ashtray of the console i removed and it worked good there,so i'll keep it in the general location.
