440-1 head push rod oiling vs through head oiling - 03/18/13 12:58 AM

i have the big easy head with t&d rockers im set up to do push rod oiling but my question is, is just push rod oiling enough by its self or should i run a restricted line off the block to my head to oil the shafts. originaly i was going to just do the line off the block to the head but was worryed about the push rod ends so i went with push rod oiling to cover that. but now im wondering how good the push rod oiling feeds the shaft.

Thanks

My -1 are push rod oiled with T&D individual shaft rockers. Comp 892 tappets with bushed lifter bore,.060" orifice. More than enough oil. I may restrict it in the future.

if you are using the solid shaft t&d set-up, i would use the rear of the block fittings for oiling. it is much simpler and more than enough. i even restrict the oil to the heads with this set-up. the t&d,s are unique in that with this type set-up, the pushrod and rocker cup are pressurized with oil.

since im already set up for push rod oiling it should work the opposite way shouldnt it? oil the cups first then the shaft?
