I don't know how fast mine is. It does have a Chevy trans dipstick handle and trans mount. Not to mention the motor has 4 OEM Chrysler parts. The rear main seal retainer and bolts, the distributor hold down.

My Valiant has a GM 1wire alt. that's about all I can think of on it. My ElCamino has no mopar junk on it ha ha ha! But it's for sale or trade so look me up.

Ford sold Autolite years ago, if you where using Motocraft spark plugs and filters you would be a real Ford parts user

Just messin with you, Fram, or whoever the parent company is, has owned Autolite for years. Autolite makes good spark plugs still, no matter that Ford did own them back in the day, I guess some companys can unlearn bad habits

By the way most of my stroker motors use the 2.200 rod journal sizes and rod bearings, AKA BB Chevy sizes

I wonder how many racers that use a all after market parts in a nine inch Ford type rear end say they have a Ford nine inch rear end in there cars

Although the rods in my motor are based on a Chevy engine (2.220/0.990), they are not Chevy parts at all. They are 0.400" longer than a Chevy rod, and made by SCAT not GM. The rod bearings are made by Clevite to Chevy BB dimensions, so is that what you mean? And I have a Delco 10SI alternator made for GM in the '70s.

Well they're based on a Chevy valve, but they're longer so call it what you will. Also my Aerospace front brakes have both bolt patterns and of found some great wheel deals in gm pattern so I thought about moving the studs

my chevy rods are H beams & chev didn't make H beams so i'm off the hook on that one just like my Ford 9" is made by Strange & Romac, saved again. The chevy valves in my -1 heads are made by Manley so altho there are no Mopar parts on my Maxx block engine, there are no chev or ford parts either, same with my 727 sooooooooo.... my True no Ford or Chev racecar runs 9.4, so is that fast enuff for you?

Let's see...

Manley valves made specifically for Mopar Indy 440-1 heads:
Manley Exh Valves 11813-8, 1.81 dia, .3415 (11/32) stem, 5.369 length
Manley Int Valves 11850-8, 2.25 dia, .3415 (11/32) stem, 5.344 length

The BB Chevy intake valves are 5.22" long, the 440-1 are longer.
The BB Chevy exhaust valve are 1.88" dia and 5.325" long, not the same.

So the 2.25" intake valves aren't Chevy either, they are +.100". These are just race parts, not GM.

loaded question. What do you consider "all mopar"? I have a 440 but it has ol TRW pistons a holley intake and carb, its not fast by any means but it has factory crank, rods & iron heads so where does your question draw the line

the purpose of the tread is a lot of guys say brand x this and brand x is that...ford is this and ford is that but we all have some sort of brand x parts some where on our cars..most of the racers do anyway....then there are the chevy are not fast ford is not fast....what makes mopar so fast ..I have chevy buddies and ford buddies that are fast glad to know them and love to help out with it when I can...I enjoy my mopars and don't care what make as long as its fast....

No 1 brand car is faster than another. Its all in the setup and how much cash you have into them. Heck my old 87 buick gn 6 cyl stock would of put a beating on many big block stock muscle cars. Many people just love to talk up what ever brand cars they like. Thers no this brand is faster than another just what brand do you like. And for some reason the mopar fans seem to really hate the the fact that a gm or ford part may end up on a mopar. thats not me though.

the plate to block off the fuel pump on a sbm will fit a bbc
my used arc switch panel came out of chevy
the next point conversion i do i am using a gm mod.

GM bolt pattern on the ATI damper..... a conscious choice to increase my options as far as pulleys , crank trigger or what ever I may be driving off of it in the future.

I'm ALL mopar! But I still haven't broken into the 12s so I'm slow. Only been to the track once since I built my motor and shattered my driveshaft that day, didn't get a full run in.

I don't have to take the pole do I? And I don't even wanna think about an apple...

The Meziere water pump filler necks on Mopars and Chevies are the same too. (radiator cap)

4 3/4 bolt pattern wheels
.990 pins
The 8 3/4 may one day be replaced with a 9" but it will have no Ford made parts...it'll be 100% aftermarket (housing included)

There is not a single GM or Ford part on my race car. It does however have an alternator off a Bobcat on it. But then my car isn't all that fast.

A true racer wants to win, he only praises his sponsor for paying the bills. Look at Penske and Keselowski, championship team dumps their brand for a better deal.

If you compromise your racing equipment to be loyal to your brand, you are giving up advantage to your opponents. Bob Glidden switched brands without hesitation when rules changes made one brand favorable.

In 1982 I sold my '68 Satellite and bought a turn-key Chevy II, it was a better race car than mine, went from winning 1 race in '81 with the Plymouth to winning 13 in '82.

I don't race much anymore, but if I had a good offer on my Duster and I knew of a good tube chassis car such as a Cavalier with a SBC that I could get, I would go for it.

My distributor hold down is honestly the only factory Chrysler part on the boat. It looks like a Chrysler, so she's a Chrysler.

All Mopar only for me. I even re-used the Factory woodgrain steering wheel adapted to my quick release & re-used my old Chrysler seat belt buckle on the window net.

I have purpose built race equipment, Strange 9", Yancer chassis, GM Powerglide, Predator (race heads) motor, but the distributor is in the right spot. Oh......and it's poll....... and prolly is not a word, although you didn't use it, I felt the need to mention it......OK done.

This is a ridiculous thread but here ya go. Im all for keeping it mopar at heart. But are you talking mopar by design or factory chevy parts on a mopar? I run a 4 inch crank in my small block 360 brodix heads edelbrock intake etc.... But i robbed a sbc distributor clamp. Is that what you mean by a fast car using brand x parts? Or my 604 uses a 4.75 crank with chev 7.1 rods. But 7.1 isn't a stock length rod only the big end diameter is chev. Does that mean its a chev part? I am however running a glide behind it wich is a chev trans. But its in a tube chassis 70 cuda with a dana. SOME ONE HELP ME!!!! Have i lost my mopar heart? Im soooo confused
