the new 440 is almost done - 12/15/12 01:51 AM
well my "new" 440 is almost done. it is a 78 block with the thicker mains and bore supports. filled with 7LB each side. mancini 3/4 girdle iron mains. 440 source stock stroke crank (boy are they hard to drill into) K1 rods JE pistons 110LS 263 265 .635" lift with 1.6 rockers in at 110. (well 109.5 anyway) old indy heads 270cc intake runners. 2.19 intake 49cc chambers 335cfm flow, M1 intake single plane, dominator 1050 carb.
all the above parts split my 73 440 block. i want it to go a couple of seasons this time. no roller till it lasts a while.
going in my 76 duster (again) this one better last longer than a season. this is the last stock block 440 i will do. i have two 400 blocks now for later (i am collecting )
sofar best time slip is 10.20sec. cam at 108 last time
now for spring
