4.125 K1 crank
Carrillo rods
Diamond pistons, 13.1 compression
709 lift intake, 687 lift exhaust custom grind soild roller, 108 l/c
277/288 @ .050
w2 heads, 289 cfm @ 700 lift
tunnel ram with 2-750 holleys
comes out to 434''

any guesses on the hp and torque

If the engine isn't built, send those heads out for some major work.

That's alot of cubes to feed with that port, causing it to peak very early.

any guesses on the hp and torque

Just built an Indy headed 427 sb a couple of months ago, Indy 230 heads I ported on a bit, Indy intake converted to 4500, 1050, 14:1, cam was 272-278@ .050 and .765-.710 gross lift.
It was 4.125 stroke, 4.060 bore and used TTI 1 7/8 x 3.5" headers...it made 726HP at 7000rpm and 590's TQ. Martin owns it, he's a member here. I think his handle is w2 stroker?

Anyway, this build could have used better heads and headers, larger carb and more camshaft for a more serious effort but having said that....it was a bracket engine that needed to make more than 700HP so that's where it ended up.
Personally the Indy heads need the short turn revised to allow a different S/T shape...until then they will never live up to their potential.

I'd guess your build will be somewhere around 620-640.

your combination is extremely close to mine other than carboration, I dont know how much horsepower mine is. The best et. is 9.61 at 137 at 2985 race weight.

Thats not much head work for those cubes... myself
I think you'll be lucky to break 600hp

Not a lot of flow, true. But then again it's as much or more than many old school iron head 440 big block bracket cars had for 30+ years and did just fine.

Yes you have to overcam it to compensate for the smallish ports, but you can still ET respectably with it.

I'd say about 630 horse is possible as is.

Id like to know what power could be made in an endurance application with say a .630-.660 lift roller and w8s or 9s.

i really hope you are wrong on this guess.

these w2's made 560 hp with 362''. smaller roller cam (638 lift)and less carburation (2-650's)

I've been wrong PLENTY of times... good luck with it

Seems to me there are lots of 4 inch engines with 300cfm on the intake making 600 with a single carb, it is a bit intake port shy for 434 but the T ram should help some, I think 600 - 625, I would love to see the torque curve on a good dyno on this combo

It will be on the dyno when finished.

We ran several computer programs with these parts and both spit out similar #'s.

640-660 hp and 585-600 ft lbs. I don't think 660 hp is realistic but between 630-640 hp is more realistic.

Time will tell as it is just #'s, the strip is where it counts.

I think it'll make nice power, I just think it will peak early and not carry well past peak.....which IMO would limit gear ratio and converter flash.

On an engine that large, I'd try to get as much cross section as possible without ruining the port.

That's just me though.....good luck with the build.

I think the computer program said 6800-6900 rpm peak power.

I know a set of Indy 360-1 would be a better choice for 434" but I have to use what I got.

What heads would you guys like to see with this combo? W5's, 360-1, 360-2.
