Tom idk if this is of any help but my KB block was shipped with the studs and the engagement in the block was definitely deeper than common, not that it would be the same for both blocks. they're packed away at the moment if needs be i could dig them out and get measurements.

"normally" most studs aren't necessarily anything special they're just packaged as kits, i have on a number of occasions ordered loose studs from ARP. there is a normal ratio of thread length vs fastener diameter but i don't recall it at this time. the reason i mention this is that it seems to me the threads on the coarse portion that threads into the block was longer than normal so in this case they might be a special stud

If only some of them are to short you can just buy what you need from these guys http://www.specialty-fasteners.com/ they stock a lot of ARP studs.

Thanks guys. I think they all need longer than normal engagement to keep them from stripping. The KB's actually have a button on the bottom but was wondering what you guys were using. I'll get a hold of the fastener company first, thanks.

I think the standard for steel fasteners in cast iron or steel is the diameter of the fasteners. In aluminum I would really want to see more like 150 % longer than the diameter, IE on a half inch diameter stud I would like to see at least .750 thread engagement

My aluminum KB has 1.800" of thread engagement . .750 will pull the threads ( just like the Indy block )with 70 ish torque on the bolt.

According to my paperwork we have the 145-4007 stud kit.

That's not exactly correct though, because we had to replace some of the hex nuts with 12 point.

I don't think that part number is specific to the World block so maybe I'm using the wrong part?

that is the standard ARP number for a wedge with b1 heads. i'm not familiar with the world block and though i can't say it's wrong for your application i would think it is.

looking at the 2011 ARP catalog all the PNs listed for both the KB and world (aluminum and iron) are listed for hemi heads

i would say it's time for a phone call to world to see what they require
