I have an agreement with Norwalk, Indy and St Louis for 2013 and will be running a (6) race points series. We are going to race for points in all classes Saturday and Sunday! I am working on a 4th and 5th venue, but i cant promise that these will come through for 2013!

Why not try to work "with" Charlie and try to get the series kick started? Dont know why Belienda would be worried now after all this time since Columbus was 10 times bigger a few years ago and he didnt seem to mind then.

The plan is monster Mopar may St. Louis July Indy Sept norwalk

Well, I am bringing back a past here on what we were all hoping would be a year full of Mopar events around the Ohio, Indy, Penn. & W.Virg. areas. I typed in the words "Mopower Events" and it took me to all this. The year has past and we had 2 less Mopower Events ,( no West Virginia and no KilKare), 1 less Monster Mopar,(no St Louis), Curt George Memorial was moved from Pittsburg to Quaker City, Chrysler Power Classic in Cinci. I would also like to thank the people that showed up at "The Spring Nostalgia Nationals" at National Trail Raceway for the 3 years that I put it on. I will not be doing it again but you will be seeing my Sled City racers out in full force at other events next year. Of course we are all wondering how to plan our vacations for next years racing and I think it would be nice for Jeff Johnson, Josh King, Charles E. Blankenship, and of course "Big Bob George" , to say what they have in store for us next year. One last thing, are there any "NEW" promoters out there throwing their hat in the ring?
Quote:Well, at least we have one promoter out there getting ready for some good racing.Quote:

I'm working on a series for next year and I think we have a new sponsor; the Mexican Cantina and Grille. They have locations in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana and are interested in providing free food and beverage for all our events, as well as year end cash. I'm looking forward to "MCG's Race for the Can."

To have a clear understanding of my position,I'am not a promoter.I and my associates help sponser the Curt Memorial race to honor Curt, his memory and his legesy.I leave the promoting to the track owners and or the event owners if one is involved.
We have been recently approached from a potential promoter who wants to create a new 3 race series for Mopar racers. This would be a race oriented event, with guarrenteed payouts and affordable entry fees. The payouts will come from sponsership money and not be prorated on the number of cars entered. It is unfair for racers to travel at great cost to find that the purse is diminished because of low car count. It is the responsibility of the track owner or event promoter to bring the racers to the event. The big mistake they make is not securing the sponser funds to cover the payouts and realy on the gate and entry to cover that cost as well as put money in their pockets.Relying on only the gate and entry is a sure way to lose money unless you cut the payout and that certainly pisses of the racers.
We are in an early stage negotiations with this promoter and if anything developes we will inform everyone.
Respectfully,
Bob

I can say with most certainty, that another group of people trying to put on races will be a great reason for me not to do it.

Why is it the Mopar mentality to saturate an already whored-up market as a solution....

Well put Bob. The promotors should sit down and get everything hashed out on dates etc. I think I can say that Moparmax races at Cedar Falls,Iowa will probably be held again after the Div.5 ET finals in sept.2014. I don't see this date hurting other events that happen in Ohio,Indy,or St.Louis. A lot of it will depend on the economy next year. I do know some of our locals that have gone to Indy or St.Louis. Good luck to everyone. I sure hope things work out! Ted

The dates have been set by who?
Quote:It has taken 10 days to get at least 2 solid dates for races, and that was from Josh. Thank you Josh. Bob George has given us a sneak preveiw of what might transpire into a 3 race Mopar series, and I hope that works out for all of us, including Bob. Jeff Johnson Motorsports has a since of humor with his "Race To The Can", sponsored by a Mexican resturant. I think Jeff was just putting some fun into this thread , but I am sure he will be giving us a date or 2 soon after his GoodGuys Swap Meets are done for the season. He does have an all Mopar Swap Meet coming up in Nov. at the Ohio Expo Center. As for Mopower Events, has anyone heard anything about them? And when are "The Mopar Nationals 2014?

BE THERE!
Quote:Well it looks like Jeff Johnson Motorsports has the swap meet mentioned and Sled City Fiberglass will be set up inside by the stage. Jeff mentions that he has his schedule ready to hand out at the show, and from talking to him on the phone, I think there will be more than the Cinci meet in 2014.
Just a reminder, next Saturday, November 16th, I'll be hosting the 4th Ohio Mopar Expo swap meet and car corral at the state fairgrounds in Columbus. I'll be distributing my 2014 schedule there.
