X pipes installed where?

How far in inches down stream on the exhaust system from the tip of the header collectors do you guys install the X pipes to make them work at their best? This is a street car with an exhaust system that ends just before the rear axle.

Going to have this installed soon on the wagon. Need to use this design, not much room for a regular X.

X pipes should be installed 1/2 way between the collector
and the muffs for the best performance but in most
cases its hard to get them there... H pipes go close
to the collector

Sounds like someone found some thinwall aluminum pipes

Those there are stainless pipes. 304 to be exact.
