2012 Summit Motorsports Park Track Champion - 09/08/12 07:15 PM

With the raining out of our last points event today, my youngest Kaitlin is now officially this year Jr Dragster Novice class champion with 13 points and 3 feature wins.

I have to admit I'm more then a little proud of how she's done this year. After losing the first round of the first race of the season, she went out and won the next 3 weekends in a row grabbing the lead which she held on to through out the rest of the season.

Thanks guys. It's been a long, bumpy road and although she grabbed the lead early in the season and held it from there out there were always those nipping at her heals.

And yes Ron, We'll be at the banquet this year. I've always told them that if they wanted to go they had to earn it.

Well, I guess she's earned it this year.

Dude and dudette, congrats. That is the only reason you are not track champion, Bill. Perfect excuse. She is waaay more important. She's definately deserved it. Way to go.

And while there are those who do, I always got the impression that most racers find the Jrs annoying and a waste of their time so I decided not to rock the boat.

Bill maybe it's the car guys but I've been to Summit Motorsports Park the last three Wednesday Fun Nights and all of the motorcycles guys (which is usually the lane the Jr's stage in) have a great interest in them and even walk up to the line to watch them run. I went the first time three weeks ago with the '69 GTX (even had a photo of the GTX on the Wed Night report on their site http://www.summitmotorsportspark.com/ima...dPDF.082912.pdf ) and it was okay, went the last two times with my motorcycle and had a better time as all of the bike guys hang out together in the staging lane and bs AND WATCH THE JR'S RUN.

Were you and your daughter there at any of the last three Wednesday Fun Nights?
