Fuel tank location rule question

Ok.

I'm doing up a 49 fargo truck into a street rod.

I want to run it down the track, so I want to know if mounting one of those aluminum hot rod style tanks in the box, is legal.

I've got an older rule book, and can't find anything directly to the contrary in the general regulations, but the rules all seem to worded for cars, not trucks.

Any help appreciated.

Yes mounting it in the bed IS legal
