1st time daughter raced made in finals at skyview drags

my daughter made it to the finals at skyview drags a local 1/8 mile track in the tcr class.she lost on the final round.this was her 1st time ever racing she is only 15 yrs old.the tcr class is a class for kids 13-17 yrs old,they drive a street legal vehicle slower than 10.00 in the 1/8.a parent rides as a co-pilot.she was cutting lights in the low to mid 5/s all day.she ran my 2003 dodge quad cab 4x4 v8.her best run was 11.19@62.25.her happest moment was when she beat the track champion on one round.i told her dont worry about other opponent just focus on the the light.i wish i could stay that focused when i race.

congrats! we need to bring in the young guns to keep drag racing in the future.

yes come race day she wanted to do it all by her self.i was just along for the ride.only thing i had to do was make sure her dial in was correct on the board.she was the one figuring out her dial in time on the vehicle.its funny she is the one that figured out to take off on the 2nd yellow instead of 3rd yellow to cut a good light.she is so focused when she pulls in the lights.i cant wait couple more yrs when we line up side by side.i better get practicing.hehe.thanks for all the comments.she still has a smile on her face today.mike d.
