Rumor of Dodge Drag Pak program going away are not true - 05/18/12 03:49 AM
The Dodge Drag Pak program recently liquidated about 30 or so 2011 Challenger “body-in-white” units. As the Agent understands it, the factory sold 52 Challengers and without orders for complete cars for the other bodies in stock they simply decided to sell the remaining bodies to the public.
A dealer in upstate Illinois purchased 15 of them and Monster Mopar Weekend racer/promoter Josh King got nine. He promptly sold all of his and told the Agent he could have sold 50 if he had them.
The Drag Pak program began releasing a new model every two years in 2009 and our sources say that hasn’t changed, so a new Drag Pak should be available in 2013. [05/17/12].........Drag Racing Online

It is funny that the "liquidation" to the public was kept so quiet.

There was no "public" liqudation...it was definetly knowing someone who knew someone who heard something!

If they've all been bought up then that explains why they never got back with me. Time to start looking for a recovered theft car to build my new racecar I guess.

Josh, I appreciate you offering me the chance to buy one of the cars. If they had the Drag Pak numbers, I would have bought both of them.

I assume these are just the basic body shells. No bumpers etc..Just the sheetmetal?

Just sheet metal. No bolt on parts other than door shells, deck lid and hood. (Stock hood though) These cars have not had any glass installed or seam sealer applied. No drag pak mods have been made.
I was very disappointed when I found out that they had not been assigned drag pak sequence numbers. That was important to me.
It's a good price at $3500.
If I had purchased them, I would have put the second one away to use in case we ever damaged the first car beyond repair. And, if we never used it, I eventually would have sold it.
