Another guess my HP post

Another guess my HP post - 05/02/12 05:30 AM

Ok I dynoed my 526 wedge today, it's a fairly common setup here so I expect some close guesses, here are the specs:

440 hard blocked, 4.375 bore x 4.375 stroke
Indy SR heads, ok port job, flow 325 @ .700", 1.6 rockers,Comp roller cam 283* at .050" .704" lift 108 lca.
12.2:1 compression, 1050 Dominator,Indy intake
7.1 rods, ross pistons, main girdle, wet sump with stock oil pump external lines.

What did she make?

You guys are too kind, it only made 722 hp at 6200 rpm and 680 tq at 4500, I'll try and get some video up later

Underwhelming? I think not. How many people on this planet can PROVE they are capable of making 722 HP?

Yeah but in this day of huge stroker motors and forced induction, 700 hp is not as impressive as it used to be. Granted, mines naturally aspirated but there's a lot of guys getting 700hp from stroker small block combos.
It will be fun nevertheless.

You could have made a boatload more steam too, if you had more head/cam/manifold/etc.. Stroker smallblocks, even with iron W2s (fully ported) outflow the SRs you have. Killer smallblock heads go well over 400cfm of "good" air.

I think you have a nice tame combo there that will run like a champ.

Thank guys, reliability was high on my list, I didn't want to be spinning it up to 7000, just chug down the track without breaking any rockers.
