When lining timing marks dot to dot... Is that not on exhaust stroke? If both marks are at 12 That is compression right???

When the crank gear dot is at 12 o:clock and the cam gear dot is at 6 o:clock your at the start of the intake stroke and at the end of the exhaust stroke on number one cylinder so you are in the overalp of both valves When both gears dots are at 12 o:clock your at TDC of number one piston on the firing (power) stroke or at the end of the compression stroke
