I have the Comp Engineering front plate on mine. The added thickness of some plates is not necessary.

The car is getting a front half done to it. It will all be round tube with struts. Does that make a difference in which one would work?

Just have to make sure they are wide enough to fit
your chassis rails... most likely you will need 36"
widths but that will depend on your chassis set up...
make sure you put the front mounting tabs behind the
motor plate so its easier to get the engine in

I have both Competition Eng front & mid plates on my Challenger. I had to extend the passenger side several inches to make it fit for the offset. All in all both fit great though.
