ladder bar help - 04/10/12 07:04 PM

I ran my new car for the first time this weekend. It Is a back halved 69 Dart with ladder bars an single adjustable coil over shocks. It went 1.42 @ 60' 10.07 @ 1/4 mi. The car instantly goes to the right and then straight after I correct. It only picks the front tires for a very short time. Should I just add some preload to the right hand bar, or make some other adjustment. unfortunately I do not have access to a scale.

Preload the right side ladder bar.If you have the double adjustable Alstons turn the adjuster clockwise to the preload the bar. I would start with 1 flat at a time. Steve

Awesome! You going to Infineon this weekend? We can make some adjustments then.

Nope, going to hang around Redding for a street legal night. I'm not quite ready for Super Pro at Infineon. Thanks for the help I'll let you how it works.

Thank you. I bought the car as a rolling chassis. The guy that built the car is going to find the paint code and call me with it. The pictures that you see don't do it justice. It's a pearl color in the sun it really glows. It looks a lot like Viper Snake Skin Green. The specs are as follows:
2760#
Back halved with QA1 single adj coil over
Alterkation with QA1 single adj coil over
Willwood on all four
470cid, 12.5 to 1, cnc RPMs, BLP 850 Anular, .662 solid roller, 2" Mad dog headers, and 7AL2 box
727, PTC 9.5" 5000 stall, and a brake
So far 10.07 @ 131 mph, 1.42 @ 60' hopefully I can get it comfortable in the 9's.

Take both tires off, if you haven't done this already, and measure the circumferce of them. I like to see both tires to be within 1/4 inch of each other I bought a seamtress tape at a sewing center to do that Another thing is to check to make sure the rear end is in the chassis square and the preload on both rear springs are equal My car would go right when I didn't have the ride hieght and spring preload dead on on the length Lots of things can affect the handling, do the simple stuff first

If your rear end is square, and you turn one side and not the other, are you not putting your rear end in a bind?
