What's New with Lickity Split, Lots of pics

I finally down loaded some progress pics. Aluminum drive shaft is here from Dyno-tech. Carpets done,wheelie bars are on,trans is built,motors almost done. During trial assy I missed with my initial piston to valve clearance. Had to go cut the pistons .035" on both notches. Crank end play is only .002."I'll either have to drill the cap or sand the thrust bearing. Intakes off getting trimmed . I'm still trying to be out in May.

The wheelie bars

Traded a set of 340 exhaust manifolds for a blown up stock eliminator push button. This is what was inside. Aluminum drums and clutch retainer,straight cut planetary's, Back half has a Torrington conversion. Case was junk.

Cleaned and trimmed a new case

Trying a new idea for limiters for the motor plate. If the trans case holds up it will work great.

One on each side

My valve covers were cracked and had Indy logo. Had to change that and the Indy logo on the heads. Doesn't everyone bondo there engine?

Big ends of the rods were atouch tight. Called Bill Miller. He said send them to me. 3 days later Bill called me himself. I said what do I owe. He nothing just though a sticker on the car. Great guy.

Don't feel too bad... The first day my car was at the track I had a friend get in and start it for me so I could work on the engine. I showed him how to start it using the switch box. I said "fire it up" he looked at the dash, and pulled the handle labled fire!! Obviously that wasn't part of the starting procedure. He decided to create his own;)

Anyway... very CLEAN work
