I don't have any digital pics of mine to post, but could get some today. The main things to watch are the ridge of the outter wheelwell. It curves in to clear the back of the quarter panel, but the factory left lots of extra room you'll need. Take the outter out, split it where it will interfere, and weld a patch in the gap. Also be warned that if you maximize the distance you move the springs themselves in,they will likely hit the lip around the gas tank(deadblow fix) and force modification of the gas filler tube in the spring area. If you measure and fit everything to the max you can get a 315-60-15 M/Tdrag radial in and still be able to slide your fingers past both sides of it. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r461/FriedDonuts/P1000654-1.jpg Not the best pic, but you get the idea.

That looks great. I just bought a 67 gtx and will be doing the same. What did you do to get the exhaust out the back? I figure the only way would be a fuel cell. Do you have any underneath pics? Thanks

Thanks, your car is beautiful. What did you do about the trunk brackets? Do you have any pics of the inside of the trunk? Thanks again.

Old man's car...springs inboard, fuel cell, leaves plenty of room for 3" tailpipes...

no pics of trunk, sorry.

I think you figure right. I initially ran it over the axle, between the spring and frame, and out behind the tire. This worked well on all of my tuning runs when I was alone in the car. With the wife and kid along there was enough suspension travel to "pinch" the pipe. I took the tailpipes off and installed turndowns until I can get a fuel cell in it and run the pipes straight out the back.

I'll have to get some digital pics to post, everything I have from that stage is in regular old fashioned prints. I did have to modify the trunk hinge brackets though. They are a 2 piece, spotwelded together affair. I drilled the spot welds out where the vertical portion makes the angle over to the stock wheelwell location. After the wheelwells were widened the remaining vertical portion of the hinge bracket lined up perfectly with the modified wheelwell. I also had to modify the rear seat frame to clear, but the seat cushion itself is unmodified.

Very easy to do, I did a mini-tub on my 67 Coronet a few years back. since then, I have added a stock width dana and am able to run 325x50x15 MT drag radials with plenty of room underneath. I posted these pics quite some time ago when this was a hot topic on here... the member on here by the name of Dragram also has done the same. Hope this helps.

Dave in your last picture it looks like you just eliminated the "L" bracket for the bracket on the trunk springs and just welded it straight to the wider inner fender. Pretty nice.

It's a 90's Dodge truck or Dodge truck wheel color depending on what year and where it was applied. One name is "Moss green" and the other is "Woodland green" It has a gold colored pearl in it that jumps out in the sunlight. Here's a better look at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8wb7JAM5...5-cMH7YDktoKEw=

67Dodge67 did you stay with Leaf Springs?

Re: 67 Ply Mini Tub Pic's - 03/14/12 02:15 AM

So why did you remove the entire inner wheel well
DOAH! What I had intended to ask, was "Why did you remove the outer wheel well", but you just explained that was to repair some rust issues. I had never seen anyone remove both sides of the wheel well tubs just to widen the inner tubs a couple of incehes. Thanks for clearing that up

Re: 67 Ply Mini Tub Pic's - 03/14/12 03:12 AM

You remove the inner wheel tub and trim the trunk floor to get the tub right up against the frame rail. Then you add in the section between the tubs to rejoin them. Move the leaf springs in board and voila instant room for large tires

Re: 67 Ply Mini Tub Pic's - 03/14/12 03:15 AM

The outter half needed some clearance surgery(see my first post at top)and there were some rust pinholes in the quarters. I sandblasted the back and laid a layer of fiberglass on it, then a skim of filler on top. No more pinholes.

Re: 67 Ply Mini Tub Pic's - 03/16/12 03:16 PM

Yes, I did the standard notch the frame and put in boxes bit. Used a 15X10 weld draglite with the 7 1/2" backspaceing

Re: 67 Ply Mini Tub Pic's - 03/16/12 05:01 PM

That is basically how I did it. 15x12 wheel with I believe 6 1/2" backspace but the Chargers I believe have more room to the wheel lip to start with. Stock width 8 3/4 with 28 x 14.50 Hoosier Q.T. Pro.

I love that color! I've been wanting to repaint my Duster something similar but wanted to use a Mopar paint color.

Yes, still have leafs. 3" relocation kit as well. Love it. I've got a TON of room under there to keep things spinning... It's a "weekend" job to do. Just take your time and it's very easy.
