Im looking at the 65 seat brackets Kramer has , and Im looking at the same ones at ssandafx. Kramer wants $385.00, ssandafx wants $250.00. So whats the difference???? Is Kramer just marking up the price ???

I will look around for dimensions. I believe there is an old SS book with the dimensions. Chances are, My old man has it in his library.

I think I remember a guy on here, that has a real 65 a990 car. Said his were painted black and were just sitting in storage. Now I Know guy's that buy these brackets and have a heck of a time getting them to work right in their cars. Makes think the ones being sold are not quite right and not a direct bolt in. Maybe they were trying to bolt the seat brackets to the frame and not to just the floor pan ???? Im shure someone on here has fought with it.

Is the floor pan of a '62 the same as the '65's? If so, We have a 62 Fury I can test fit templates in and make them correct.

Ive done alot of 64"s and 65's and know their small differences, but as far as 62 ??? I havent messed with a 62 oem pan.
Chances are really good ,that I will be making some changes to bolt the seat brackets to the cage, and not just the pan.

The difference is in the height. As to the price, get the Authentication Guide (about $20), $40 is sheetmetal & about $30 in hole saws & make your own.........

The real things are supposed to be "reversible" so you can move the seats back by switching them side to side.
I can tell you that you can't do this with the SSandAFX ones.
I got them on sale and, while they look good, I can't used them unless I bolt on some kind of adjuster.
I'm way too tall and sit too close with them mounted the way they came marked.

these were copied from a990 car long ago. depending on your height they may sit too high, also depends on your seats, the originals were pretty thin. I tried these in my 67 also , and were too high so my buddy made some like them an inch or so lower. first pictures are dr side outer.

The Authenticity Guide by Schild does not give dimensions, only a picture of the seat and brackets.
- welded 0.100 aluminum bracket
- painted black
- inner bracket shorter to clear the floor hump

I have the Kramer brackets in my 65 coronet. They are a perfect match to the originals. Pricey though. As far as fit, I used these with a real pair of A990 seats and they bolted right in. The factory holes in the floor boards matched up too.
To get them into a different position you could just drill more holes in the brackets to move forward or backward. I know it hurts to drill holes in $400 brackets, but whatever it takes to make your seating position comfortable...

Alright, I just made up the paper drawings of the brackets and sent them off to Jason (65superstock) to verify sizing to make sure they are a direct bolt in piece. Once the drawings are finalized we will get some made up!
So who is serious on these things so I can get my quantities figured out for getting pricing together?
These Seat mounts will either be waterjet cut or laser cut. I will sort that out when I am doing pricing.
Does anyone have A Body seat mounts that I can verify dimensions off of and get those moving too? Thanks.

Once I have all my pricing done, and have a solid number for you guys, I will start taking deposits, and get them baby's hammered out! I will be on vacation on the 13-21 of february. I doubt I will get them done before that, BUT it is possible I may be able to!
In my first post, I threw the number $150.00 out there for a set just off the top of my head. This is the price I am shooting for, but it isn't concrete.
I will keep you guys posted, and again, if there is anymore guys that want a set let me know!

I am not sure if the floor is the same as the 64-65 cars. I would think they are, but if you could give me the distance between the holes in the floor, and then the floor elevation difference between the outer mount holes, and the inner mount holes, I could tell you if they will work. IF they don't, I will make a set that works for the 63, using your dimensions.

Alright! I now have verified dimensions on the 68 A-Body version. So they are ready to do price quoting on. I will have verified dimensions on the 64-65 (possibly 63??) Seat brackets soon too.

So , im waiting for a big order (a100 seat covers/panels etc) to show up from legendary interiors , and im short one set of seat cores. Ive been looking around for another set of cores to recover and thinking, Why not make new seat cores ??? They look like they would be eazy to make. I hate the thought of putting new covers on crusty old cores. Im going to give it a shot.

For the A-Body seat brackets the dimensions are in the Schild guide for those cars, page 44.

I was able to get the A body dimensions. I should have the 64-65 dimensions soon. Once that's all done I will move forward, and of course, keep everybody posted on price and timeline. by the ones from ssandafx, they are the best ones available, they are not built backwards like the "ball" ones, oh and if you read this gary send sid his "wrong" seat brackets back.

Thanks, thats what I thought. A friend of mine had bought all the parts new ( from a well known supplier) only to have to take things apart, weld new mounting tabs and drill new holes.

Just an update, all the cutting and bending is in the hands of my quoter right now on the 68 brackets. I am using a quantity of 10 sets for quoting purposes. I'm sure the 64-65 ones will cost me roughly the same. We are hammering out the details on the 64-65 brackets now. Thanks

I don't think they will work in the newer style B Body. BUT, that doesn't mean we can't make a set that will work for you!
We are finishing up the final dimensions now on the 64-65 brackets, and things are looking good!
I am leaving for Cuba on Monday, and won't be back until the 21 of February. We will shoot to have dimensions finalized this week, then we can move on to building them.
