To make it interesting, mandate that the driver must be BEHIND the motor, as God intended it.

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/06/12 02:17 PM

I'm finishing a new TNT supercars dragster with a 540 b1 motor. Should be on the track in march. Would love to come but the last few years it has been scheduled on top of a nhra divisional and we run s/c. I was there with my old car in 2005 or 06. Still stings a little ran 7.501 took a 7.49 back whe it was q16.

Mine is rear engine. 1995 S&W with 440-1 headed 572. I can't run the 4 second numbers list in one of the other replies; but I would like to run Q16 format. I can generally run in the 5.1 to 5.0 range (1/8th mile). I would certainly consider coming to an all dragster, all mopar event!

would all you guys travel for a $4000 to win all dragster class?
Posted By: Bob_Spelic

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/09/12 05:42 PM

The payout is in the right area for me to consider a trip to the Indy area. When would this race be held? As stated earlier, I would need to understand the qualifyig rules and my options if I couldn't make the bump. I really can't afford to make the trip and go home if I cannot make the bump.

June 8,9,10 is Gateway
Sept 21,22,23 is Indy
I see run 5.0's is that around 8.0's 1/4?
Even if you don't make it they pay great for super pro and they also have some nice gamblers races.I would say you should be in at the top half of the field though.

We had a great time Last year lots of fun for everyone so please try to be there we need some more dragster guys for sure.Any new Dragster guy drinks for free at my Trailer.

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/09/12 08:19 PM

I'll try and attend st louis and go from there. So you are thinking 16 car dragster only and 16 car door car and run the winners for the purse? Are you thinking 7.90's will get you in? just curious haven't made any laps in the new car yet.

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/09/12 09:28 PM

WHAT I AM THINKING IS ELIMINATING THE CLASS "QUICK 32" AND CREATING 2 CLASSES

TOP DRAGSTER

AND

TOP SPORTSMAN

SO I AM WONDERING IF I DO THAT, CAN I GET A BETTER FIELD DRAGSTER

200-250 ENTRY

4000 TO WIN
1000 R/U
350 SEMIS
100 QUARTERS

THIS IS NOT SET IN STONE. IM PUTTING OUT FEELERS

I WOULD MAKE IT AN ALL RUN CLASS ABOVE 16 CARS BUT LIMIT THE FIELD TO 32

IF I COULD GET A SPONSOR, MAYBE WE WOULD TAKE THE FASTEST 8 DRAGSTERS FOR A SUNDAY HEADS UP CLASS IF I COULD GET THE SPONSORS TO BACK THAT UP....DRAGSTER GUYS COULD WIN 2 PURSES.....SATURDAY TOP DRAGSTER AND SUNDAY HEADS UP EVENT..... SOMEBODY GET TROY STONE ON THE PHONE I THINK IM ON T0 SOMETHING HERE....HOW MANY BLOWN BRAD 8 POWERED DRAGSTERS ARE THERE IN TOP DRAGSTER THESE DAYS....AND THEN THERE IS THAT BLOWN HEMI FIAT........COME ONE BOYS

well you are now the guest of honor.....free entry if you drag that thing up to my race

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/11/12 06:18 PM

That's a mighty generous offer Josh, but you may want to reconsider. I've got a little bit of an Indy jinx going, last 3 times I've been there, I've jump-roped a solid driveshaft into the bottom of the seat, trashed a Bruno, and been on fire.....

What type of minimum ET are you looking at for Top Dragster and Top Sportsman?

Thanks Jack Moore

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/12/12 02:10 AM

7.99 for the door cars would be ideal

the dragsters, im trying to be open because I want the field to be as full as possible...
Posted By: Super Scamp

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/12/12 02:19 AM

Going all out for the dragsters then your pushing the the door cars right into SP with that BS 7.99.

Just have A dragster shoot out and a door car shoot out Alot of us Door cars are only running 8.30 to 8.70 Buck Wheat.... Pain in our a$$$

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/12/12 03:20 AM

Long haul for us to...but will need to see how this dragster class shakes out. Didnt someone here mention Norwalk?

We prefer 1/8mile if its going to be a heads up/shoot out deal. Most of the fast T/D guys are all set up for 1/8th. If its 1/4, then we'll see whatthe payout is and consider some gear changes perhaps. For $4,000 to win, its got our interest.

PTO -T/D car. We prefer anything heads up.

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/12/12 04:27 AM

I would venture to say that the class would be 1/8th

4000 would be the pay out for top dragster, then we would do a top 8 or maybe just top 4 heads up race on sunday

Ray, quit bein so salty

Re: Mopar Powered Dragsters - 01/12/12 03:54 PM

The top sportsman will be a 7 second field anyway they don't even need a mandatory bump.

There are not that many mopar powered dragsters so they need to let the slower cars in just to get a full field.

The reason for the 7.99 bump is to give Sean, Baxter, Rick Corn, the Wheatcrafts, etc., a reason to travel to our race. Why should they build a 7.30 car if we are going to let 8.70 cars in? It is designed to be an elite field.

In reality, we could let a couple 8.20ish cars in if we needed to fill the field, but that's as far as we would likely need to go. We've had fields where 7.90 cars were getting bumped out by faster cars.
