This is what we do. I'm testing this against a port matched OOTB Indy on 2 different engines in the next month. I'll post results when I have them....

Net yet. I'm being held up on main caps for one engine, and the other we've decided to take with us as a partially assembled engine to Spring Fling this year. I'm hoping we will have a comparison by the end of March. I will most definitely post the details when I have them.

Sorry for the delay....

Y'all gonna have a vendor spot at spring fling? Will you have any of the indy 360-3R intakes there as I need one? If you do go ahead and have one ported for the 245CNC 360-1 heads and I'll be there to pick it up

Hi Brian,
Do these Indy manifolds need much tickling if your running a 4150 carb, any feedback or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

A good plenum blend will support 650 - 700 w/ 4150

I never got around to testing back to back, but I can say that if your going to a dominator carb, the plenum should be done correctly. I've seen this mod support very close to 800HP N.A.

The intake OOTB only really needs work from the flange in about 3".
The OOTB plenum is pretty darn good as it is.

Thanks Brian,
How much timing does the Indy 360-1 head like with flat top and .040 quench on 95 octane, what are your expirences on the dyno.? Do they like projected or regular spark plugs?

Re: intake porting - 09/08/13 04:27 PM

My dyno results yesterday showed best peak hp at
37* locked timing advance

605hp on a 408ci at 6300 rpm
552 lbs at 5100 rpm

Jezz ! that sounds like a lot of timing for that chamber, is that with a dome piston? and what compression and fuel are you running ?

Anyone else built a engine with the Indy 360-1 with flat top piston and pump gas any feed back at what timing you ended up with?
