Engine Swap - 03/17/23 02:58 PM

Stupid question of the day: Has anyone replaced a 2010 24V Cummins with a 1998 12V Cummins?

I am sure they have. Not sure on what you would need for the rest of the electronics.

Probably not the best source of information on this subject... not that there are not very unknowable members here just not the base of the forum. Id try Diesel truck Resource (Dodge/Cummins base). ..if it were me and I was going to swap, Id go all the way back to a VE pump, No electronics

P7100 has no electronics either. Just an external mechanical solenoid for fuel valve operation where the VE has an internal solenoid to open the fuel.

The VE fuel solenoid is external.

What happens to all the Cummins I6 diesels in 1990 to 1995 schools buses?

Are there specialized school bus junk yards in parts of the USA?

In NC there is a set of businesses that
take BMW & Mercedes that have been in accidents that set off multiple airbags,
pack them in shipping containers,
and export them through Morehead City seaport to South America and Africa.

Does something similar happen to school bus service used Cummins?

Do old school buses in the Southwest USA get driven to Mexico?

I see 6BT Cummins school busses being sold on the government auction sites quite frequently. Check with state, local, Department of Transportation offices.
